Designed for Shopfloor Environment

Measuring parts in a production environment poses significant challenges. Maintaining the true shape and surface of a piece free from dust, oils, temperature fluctuations, and debris, which could affect measurements, is not an easy task. Despite operators being trained to clean the pieces with rags or paper, we acknowledge that we’re not operating in a clean metrology room, and errors need to be prevented.

In addition to the choice of components and materials resistant to oil and dust, this challenge has been addressed by introducing specialized filters in the software algorithms of SPC models image processing system, that work to minimize the impact of any remaining dirt on measurements.

Focus on Data Reliability

When a measurement appears unreliable even after filtering, the operator receives a warning and has the option to double-check any single measure, without having to redo the entire process. This trick completes the validation process, which starts from the interaction of the SPCx with the Company ERP and IT System to choose the latest release of the control plan and the correct part number in production. 

Together with precise instrumentation, verified by MSA procedures, the residual risk of operator errors and concerns on data is minimized. Automatic data transfer to the Company IT System guarantees the database’s objectivity, timeliness, and reliability.

The proprietary platform SPCx is continuously evolving and undergoing debugging. It’s friendly and easy to use, designed thinking of operators in production, and to manage 100 measures in one click.
